Stopping by “the birthplace of the blues & rock ’n’ roll”

Downtown Clarksdale, MS, birthplace of the blues and home of blues legends Muddy Waters and Sam Cooke, among others. Clarksdale is also the site of the crossroads (highways 49 & 61) where legendary blues artist Robert Johnson was said to have sold his soul to the devil. We learned on this trip, however, that there are people in Ruleville, Mississippi, who claim that this happened at *their* crossroads.
