The image on the home page of this blog is just one of several “meander maps” of the Mississippi River designed by Army Corps of Engineers cartographer Harold Fisk in the 1940s. This portion shows the Mississippi Delta, from Greenville (way up on the right, just under the orange swath) down to Mayersville, a little town west of Rolling Fork.
